San Diego Invisalign
Invisalign by Align Technologies
Invisalign by Align Technologies is THE most well known brand of clear aligners on the market today. While there are great alternatives to Invisalign on the market, the predictability, reputation, and strong brand identity makes it the most popular option for many patients. Dr. Kathrina Agatep has over 15 years experience with Invisalign, and has also been trained on Six Month Smiles, Clear Correct, and Ace Aligners. Dental Design SD is also an iTero digital practice, where we utilize our digital scanner to take accurate digital impressions and provide you with a smile simulator to show you what you might look like with straight teeth.

Does Insurance cover Invisalign?
Orthodontic benefits are established by your employer and insurance carrier. Typically, there is a once-in-a-lifetime max of $1500, and the patient will be responsible for the remaining balance. Orthodontic benefits are typically limited to traditional wire and bracket braces, however the good news is that patients may opt for Invisalign and utilize those benefits toward the balance of Invisalign treatment.
Do you offer payment plans for Invisalign?
Yes! We offer third party financing through Sunbit, and for established patients we may be able to offer payment plans that best suit your budget.
AM I COVERED?
Is Invisalign Covered By My Dental Insurance?
It depends on your individual plan. We recommend looking at your benefits plan to determine if orthodontics is a covered benefit. From what we have seen, many PPO plans do have orthodontic benefits, which is usually a lifetime benefit of $1500 towards treatment. Since Invisalign is considered optional, your plan will likely require you to pay the difference. Here’s how a typical plan would work.
Invisalign Comprehensive Treatment (estimate) = $4,900
Ortho Benefits (plans may vary) = $1,500
Expected Patient Portion: $4,900 - $1,500 = $3,400

TIMELINE
How Long Does It Take To See Results With Invisalign?
Depending on the severity of your case, results can be seen in as little as 20 weeks. On average, most patients start noticing visible improvements in their smile within the first few months. However, the exact timeline for achieving results can range from six months to two years. Regularly wearing aligners for the recommended 20-22 hours per day and following instructions are crucial in achieving the desired outcomes in the shortest time possible.
