OUR PROCESS
Dental Crown Procedure
STEP ONE
Dentist examines the tooth, removes any decay, and prepares the tooth for the eventual crown.
STEP TWO
Dentist or Dental Assistant takes a physical or digital impression, which is used as a model to make sure the crown properly fits.
STEP THREE
Dentist places a temporary crown and sends the final design and aesthetic details to the lab. If onsite milling is available, the dentist may fabricate the lab onsite.
STEP FOUR
Dentist places the crown and checks proper fit and occlusion.

Same Day Crowns
Using CAD/CAM technology coupled to an onsite milling machine, we have the ability to design and deliver ceramic crowns in one visit. From start to finish, the average wait time can be approximately 2 hours. The materials used for ceramic crowns typically wear the same as natural teeth, and have shown durability beyond 5 years.
Zirconia Porcelain Crowns
This is our preferred crown of choice due to its durability and bond strength. Zirconia is the hardest known ceramic in the industry, and we have a fun video of Dr. Agatep trying to (unsuccessfully) shatter one with a hammer. When choosing Zirconia, we typically will provide you with a temporary crown, and send your digital impression to a local lab for the crown fabrication. Typical turnaround time is 3-5 days. Zirconia is also known under brand names such as Bruxzir, Katana, and Lava.
